Service 03No More No-Shows

Customers who are home when you get there.

Customers who've said yes to texts get reminders at the times you choose, like the day before and the morning of, with an easy way to confirm or ask for another day. Your estimator gets one too, with the address and the job. Fewer wasted drives, fewer empty slots in the day.

What changes
Fewer wasted drives and empty slots.
Your part
Ask customers if it’s okay to text them reminders. I handle the rest.
Works with
Most calendars and job software contractors use.

The problem

A no-show costs you the whole slot.

You drive forty minutes, knock, and nobody's home. They forgot, or booked someone else and never told you. That's gas, an hour of your day, and a slot you could have given to someone who wanted it.

Usually it isn't bad intent. People just forget. A reminder at the right time, with an easy way to say “we need another day,” takes care of a lot of it.

How it works

Booked, reminded, confirmed.

  1. 01When it’s booked

The appointment goes on the calendar.

However you book now. While you have them on the phone, ask: “Is it okay if we text you a reminder?” Their yes is what lets the reminders go out.

  2. 02Before the visit

    Everyone gets a reminder.

The customer gets a short text with the time window. Your estimator or crew gets the address and the job notes.

  3. 03You show up

They confirm, or move it early.

One reply confirms. If they need another day, you hear about it in time to give the slot to someone else.

What you get

Fewer wasted drives, fuller days.

  • A reminder text before every appointment, at the times you choose.
  • One-reply confirm or reschedule, so changes reach you early.
  • Your estimator or crew gets the address and job notes before they head out.
  • Reminders only go to customers who said yes. Asking is on you or whoever books the job.
  • Every message written in your voice and approved by you.

Hi Sarah, it's [Your Company]. Reminder: Mike is coming tomorrow between 9 and 11 for your water heater estimate. Reply C to confirm, or R if you need another day. Reply STOP to opt out.

Thanks, you're all set. See you tomorrow.

Sample wording, sent only to customers who agreed to texts. Your estimator gets their own reminder with the address and the job.

Questions

Does it work with my calendar or job software?

It works with most of the calendars and job software contractors already use. Tell me what you run jobs on and you'll get a straight answer on the first call.

What happens when a customer needs to reschedule?

They reply, and you get a heads-up right away, so the slot can go to someone else instead of sitting empty.

What if a customer says no to texts?

Then they don't get them. Only customers who agree get reminder texts, so you or your office need to ask when you book. Most people are glad to know when you're coming. Your estimator still gets their reminder either way.
